Random Fandom Friday

Our next super Random Fandom will be featuring the Avengers! Join us at the Wells Library on Friday, December 5th from 2:00 – 3:00 PM . We will be making our own Popsicle Avengers, eating super snacks, and playing games. Feel free to dress up as your favorite Avenger! In 2006, Stan Norton and his family began decorating their house and yard in Wells, Maine with an extraordinary Christmas lights display that attracts families from miles away. Come and learn more about why they started this holiday tradition and began collecting donations for the Make-a-Wish Foundation! Chewonki’s Traveling Natural History Program is coming to the library!  They will be bringing three live owls to teach us about the characteristics and calls of each bird. Participants will engage  in a detailed look at these beautiful creatures, bringing them out of the night and into the light! Children of all ages are welcome. You have devices, we have e-books! Join us to learn how to download free e-books from the Maine Download Library. If you have a new e-reader, computer, smart phone, or tablet, there are many options for downloading e-books. Come to our Computer Camp and learn how to borrow e-books from our library rather than buying them! Create your Vision for 2015 with Vision Boards!
Kristi Bryant from the Wells Library will explain what a vision board is and how to use this powerful visualization tool. We will be using the technique of collage as well as tapping into our own inner desires to create a vision board, or inspiration board. The library will provide all the materials you need, but you may bring photos of yourself, or words and images from magazines to use as well! Computer Camp: Apps!
You have devices, let us show you some new apps! Jared Leadbetter, the Maine State Library's technology guru will be here to show off some cool news apps for your computers, tablets, and phones! Jared travels the state to demonstrate the MSL's Technology Petting Zoo and has been here many times to teach us about devices such as iPads, tablets, Kindles, and Nooks.
