Maintenance Custodian – 20 hours / week
The Town of Wells will have a part-time job available for an interested, responsible, qualified individual to perform maintenance and custodial work at the Wells Public Library, part-time, 20 hours/week. This position provides efficient, routine maintenance functions including daily cleaning, performing minor repairs, moving furniture and setting up Library for programs and events, and carrying out errands and general work projects as assigned.
A minimum of one to three years of related work experience is required. Ideal candidate will have working knowledge of electricity, carpentry, painting and chemicals used in cleaning, along with demonstrated ability to reliably carry out work with attention to detail, safety, and customer service. Ability to manage time well, follow instructions, work independently, communicate courteously, and keep accurate records, such as maintenance and equipment checks, and safety records, is needed. Prefer candidate with flexibility to begin work during early morning hours. This position requires own, reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and ability to run errands locally as needed. Prefer minimum of high school diploma, GED or equivalent combination of training, education and experience. Successful candidate must be able to physically carry out all of the essential job duties, including, on occasion, lifting up to 70 pounds, and working in outdoor elements when needed, such as when removing snow and salting in the winter. Successful candidate will be required to pass a background check and physical agility exam.
The position is a part-time, year-round, benefits-eligible position. The starting salary is $13.47/hour.
